Chiesa dei SS. Filippo e Giacomo a Cortina d'Ampezzo

Using technology to conserve a delicate restoration

A monument that is just two and a half centuries old, but with ancient historical and architectural origins: the SS. Philip and James Church, the pride of the Ampezzo community, finally underwent a rigorous and long lasting restoration to recover its splendorous past, and to ensure that the value will survive intact for future generations. The project, lead by Arch. Ghedini on commission by the parish and realized by Dottor Group between 2007 and 2009, included the archaeological and stratigraphic analysis of the monument, the precise restoration of frescoes, paintings, stucco, wood and stone elements. Modern technologies were used to renovate the facilities and to create a new thermal power plant that will continue preserve and conserve the newly restored historical elements.
