The added value of on site Superintendence

In Italy, a key player in the restoration operation is the territorial Superintendence, with whom the customer, along with the site management is Dottor’s main contact.
Each step of the project is discussed and agreed upon before work begins. The collaboration starts at the design stage, proceeds with decisions on how to intervene and often continues after the site has closed and the restoration is finished.
The delicate and conservative restoration of the stonework at the de’ Banchi mansion were the subject of a meticulously thorough study carried out in collaboration with the Soprintendenza per i Beni Ambientali e Architettonici of Bologna (Superintendence for Environmental and Architectural Assets). As part of this project, a three year maintenance study was carried out, which allowed the building’s status to be monitored and a plan made to maintain the splendid restoration results.
