Villino Borghese

Restoration in the heart of the city

Working on restoration projects in Italy’s downtown areas proves almost as challenging as the restoration itself. Villino Borghese is situated in the hectic city of Rome, Italy, and access to the area is restricted by traffic and zoning regulations. To overcome the logistical difficulties in the restoration, the Dottor Group: opened a central warehouse on the immediate outskirts, built a temporary bridge to the site, with small vehicles keeping a constant flow of supplies, access to the site was controlled by badges issued to all workers and visitors, and the site was monitored day and night through a sophisticated video surveillance system. No quality standards were foregone; all steps of the restoration were established through strict testing: time and cost deadlines were respected; and safety regulations were enforced, without a single accident on the work site.
